For a while now I have wanted to do something to “give back”. I have been very blessed with my family, my job and my business. I feel as if I need to share this blessing with others. Time never seems to be on my side. Many of you can relate, with family, work, school, etc it’s hard to find time to sleep, let alone time to volunteer. But let’s face it that’s not really a good excuse. Each of us can find time to do something, even if it’s from our home.
So how excited was I when I was doing my morning reading and came across this website: Operation Beanies. This is an organization founded by Miki Sessle to honor her late husband Bertram Sessler. Her goal is “to provide one million (1,000,000) beanies for our service members in the
Armed Forces and Veterans in hospitals and convalescent facilities.” How wonderful is that! U.S.
This is my plan… make beanies to donate! My goal is to make at least two beanies a month. Not a bad goal! I will ship beanies on a monthly basis and keep you updated on how many I’ve completed. If you crochet or knit you should join me in this goal/challenge!
I am so excited to get started on this!
